Nikki was magnetic. I don't know how exactly it happened, but we went from strangers to N² in what felt like an instant. The time between meeting her for the first time, when she was brought to my house party as a guest, and when we were running around the house hand in hand, giggling and looking for our lost drinks, pretending to be detectives is non-existant. That was all her, like so many others, I got to experience the magic of being "chosen" by Nikki.

We were called N² because for years after that night we were always found together, there was no need to say both our names when asking about one or the other. I couldn't have been more proud to be lumped into one identity than with such a funny, brave and loving woman.
